highsee: imremembering: Manwich Source: Flickr True story, I didn’t have a sloppy joe until I was 26.  My mom never made a whole lot of prepackaged stuff and rarely ever would buy mixes and things like that, so the only exposure I had to sloppy joes was in school.  The school joes were insanely disgusting looking, watery tomatoey meat product puree on a cold hamburger bun.  Chris forced me to eat Manwich last year, and I’ve never looked back.  We make ‘em with ground turkey, though.  Just as delicious. My mother made anything if it took less than 10 minutes or could be fried. She called these ‘mamwiches’ though and I grew up my whole life thinking that’s what these sandwiches were called. I get sudden strong cravings for them although I have not enjoyed one in nearly a decade.
